Valentine's day is gone, and of course, graduation season is here. Lots of gifts to buy again, until all these frenzy is over. Next trip to the store would be to buy a gift for mother's day.. Shopping for special ocassions is indeed a cyclical event... Oh, and there are birthdays in between. What could be more exciting than that? Hahaha.. For women, it is easy to shop. But for men, it seems so difficult. shopping for men, as well as men shopping for gifts. Most times, even if the gift is from a man, a woman is needed to shop on their behalf. so true, as my brother and father would ask my mom for this task, all the time. As for us buying for men, well, it is actually a personal disaster for me, as I really find it difficult to shop for a man within a limited budget. If I want to buy something for a man, it should be priced along the likes and wishes of the recipient.. hmm.. Too much, I suppose, but sometimes worth all the hassle.. sometimes----

Hmm.. Just Thinking

The Askalz have made headlines ever since they started giving the Philippines its glory.. I wonder if the hunks are taking up hgh supplements.. Or any other nutritional supplements and what brand..I wonder if they drink Fit and Right or splurge on high protein, low calorie diets.. I wonder if they are all fit to become responsible fathers.. waahhh.. What are these thoughts I am having?

It's just that I know of so many sports dudes who are not.. What good is being good looking and healthy looking if one is not, right? Anyway, I just hope there will be more responsible persons in this world..

Whatta Charger...

My aunt showed me her newly bought charger which only cost her P 300 plus. It was quite an amazing deal for it can be used for seven Nokia cellphones, a PSP, a camera, and many others...I wonder if there is one for nimh rechargeable batteries.. My baby cousins loved the fact that they can charge their gadgets all at the same time using the said charger.

Anyway, what I am most interested among her loot is the car charger because we lost ours--- or someone took them away.. Oh, and there is a warranty for it, should something go wrong.. Nice...

Wishes and More..

I think I mentioned previously that Lili  wants to be an equestrian.. Yup! She says she wants to ride horses and wear the jacket and one of the riding helmets she saw on a website somewhere.. Well, guess what.. She has added another trade to her long list of wishes.. She says she wants to be a bus driver. Hahaha.. Why? Because she liked the bus we boarded on our way to Butuan City and back.. She says she liked the view while driving and she can go anywhere and take all of us and all her friends anywhere we want.. In fairness, the bus was indeed nice. It's not a tour bus but is was comfortable enough on those two trips.. Air conditioned and odor free. Plus, both drivers on those two trips were smiling and friendly.. For P 320 one way regular fare and P 265 for Lili, it was not bad at all..

Till next trip, yellow bus..

The Balanghay Trip..

Lili and I arrived last night from our mini trip to Butuan City, where we had our version of the "Voyage of the Balangay", lol... Actually, I simply showed her the museum as well as the Balanghai Shrine in Libertad. When I mentioned museum, my Lili asked if there were paintings as what she often read about, but to her dismay when we were there, there were none. Well, I did not tell her that there were, but I emphasized that there may be changes from the last time I was there, which was when I was yet ten years old. Uhm.. NO! There was not any difference, except the touch screen kiosk at the lobby, and that's it.. But what caught my daughter's attention was the many earrings and bangles featured there. They may not be hip like that of Puerto Vallarta jewelry, but they sure stand out.. Amazing designs at that early point in history..

Of course, at the Balanghai Shrine, we saw only the first boat which dates back to 320 A.D.

Sleepy Me..

All the running these past few months may make every runner tired and seek a relaxing sleep with the use of memory foam mattress and pillows. But I know of one who sleeps on hard wooden flooring. He says that  it serves him best rather than a soft, cottony bed, not even beds with goose feathers... But if you ask me, I would like a comfortable bed where the cushion used is that from Uratex. It has been a proven fact from my family and relatives who use Uratex.. But sometimes, it is rather a good idea to sleep on the couch.. still comfy, yet sturdy..

uhm.. I am actually sleepy right now.. Hehehe I hope you wont mind me talking about beds here..

The Volunteer..

We checked out the malls and found no sports shop to buy batting cages, pitching mounds or even pitching machines. Well, it is of course a known fact that the Philippines is not a baseball country. Although there are lots of schools who have baseball as part of their sport curriculum. Like, I was hit by a baseball ball when I was in college, all because I tried to shun away from it. ow ironic that it had to hit me as it tried to land on my forehead, lol..

Anyway, we are trying to help a friend by the said equipment as he wants to train the kids at the center, and since baseball is the only sport he knows, it is what he wants to teach them.. Well, we can't blame him, he was born, raised and grew up practically in baseball country.. Having him as one of the volunteers is quite a bonus. But then he said that if we can not find a store or shop to buy the equipment, he plans to hire his cousin to teach basketball to the kids. At his own expense... I dunno if I should laugh or cry.. But it is supposed to be him who should do the teaching as a volunteer-- not pay up someone to do it for him.. Hmm.. We'll see what will happen later on..

Online Education is In..

The chances for OFWs returning to the Philippines, to get a job here in the Philippines is too narrow. That is why some of them, while working abroad, has also invested in some extra education, like Manong Freddie who happen to have enrolled and finished an online it degree while working in Bahrain. He said that he had utilized his free time into studying as he knows that he will eventually be able to use his degree for teh future. And I guess he could say that the future is here, because he may be relocated back here in the Philippines, but soon after, will be leaving for Singapore to work as an IT professional..

I am happy for him. A lot of people are also taking up other online degrees as it is very beneficial. Imagine, you get to save on gas, energy and fare as you need not commute anymore. You can continue education even while at home.. and teh best thing is that, online degrees like online it degree is in demand these days, everywhere in the globe...

Here in Cagayan de Oro City, it seems that the Run for a Cause fever will never stop. So you guys should all prepare your running shoes, be it Adidas shoes, or Nike. After the success of the Run For The Heart, another one is soon to be held, and that is Run For The Kidneys... That would be sometime in May 2011. A friend of mine told me about this update and well, invited me to join them too. I am really happy and excited for these runs, but I am not sure if my schedule will allow me to. So here's hoping that I will be there in May.

In the meantime, you can go to the previous post and see what's in store for this March as another Run will be held..
