free press release for skate compe in December

0 leaps and a turtle dive
The organizers of the December Competition are busy looking for sponsors and at the same time, looking into free press release for the upcoming event. A free press release can help disseminate information and invite more and more participants to join.. Oh well, I hope they can make up their mind already. I gave them a few sites to check..

Free Article Submission Service

Larry is busy looking for the best Free Article Submission Service online. It so happened that Larry loves writing articles of any topic thus, he wants to submit his work through an online Free Article Submission Service. That is totally cool! And skaters are said to be idiots??? Wrong!!!

Skater Jojo was trying so hard to finish his assignment in English. Their class was tasked to write an essay about anything that they fancy. He asked his girlfriend to do it for him, but she told him that she is not in the mood to write so she went online to look for custom essays that he can use.. Oh well, technology also has its share of double standard. Either it becomes helpful for students to do more or it becomes the reason why some students don't do more for their academic requirements... As a teacher, this really bothers me.

It's quite funny how students always have LOVE as the topic for their personal essays. I mean, yes, LOVE is a very good topic but sometimes I find that it is so common and commercial that the younger generation do not quite understand what it is all about. They talk about their relationships but I am saddened by the fact that most of them take relationships in a very shallow manner... Whew.. I wish that will change...

Anyway, one skater has proven that LOVE is still worth the topic.. Right Mik?

Lately, the news are filled with issues on the removal of the price ceiling that greatly affects lives of all Filipinos. Some are even contemplating yet of getting more investments to improve finances, and now, they are bombarded with new problems to face...

Oh well, that is how colorful life is. We can never be wherever we want to be if we do not go through life's obstacles... Money makes life happen but many things happen when we live day by day living life with or without money...

Skateboards & Nationalism

Here is a relative information about skateboarding. It's a video seen at Inquirer sports. It's Freddy Gonzalez, president of Five-O Skate Shop who is sharing the information.

He advises that beginners should not spend so much at first so they don’t regret as much in the end. Further, it is recommended that beginners buy a complete set if he wants to start skating, and as he gets better, upgrade into better products. The rationale is that if he finds out that it’s not the right sport for him, at least he didn’t spend that much. The cheapest yet complete skateboard set costs between P3,000 to P4,000 but the average price range is around P5,000.

Gonzalez shares a few pointers in choosing the right board.

"Know what size fits you. For those with smaller foot size, choose a smaller board that measures about 7.5 inches."

According to him, a narrow board is a good choice if the one is more into mastering flips and technical tricks. For riding rails and ramps, a wider board is more ideal.

"Check whether the board is concave enough. It is easier to flip if the board is concave enough."

"Check whether the “pop” of the board is stiff enough. A good pop would depend if the board is stiff enough. The stiffer a board is, the better it is to do ollies and flips. To check, try giving the tail end of the board a good downward kick."

According to Gonzalez, board manufacturers commonly used Canadian maple in crafting the board because of its stiffness and flexibility. But others tried using bamboo for the board because it is easier to source.

“The professionals don’t have a say on the art. Currently, companies released designs by series,” said Gonzalez.

Professional skaters, meanwhile, may opt for a board made from carbon-composite materials, which can withstand a lot of abuse.

Professional skaters who would want their board assembled spend no less than P10,000, Gonzalez said.

productivity monitoring

The shop is now manned again by Vsk8shop's original man, Andrew. These days, Daddy needs to do a lot of productivity monitoring as the shop hasn't been doing well. Must be the recession hitting it cold... But needless to say, it will not close, not yet! If it will close, no other shop operates in CDO so it will be a big loss for all skaters. So guys, I am urging you to please visit VSK8SHOP on site. We are located at the car park of SM Cagayan de Oro City... There are lots of skateboarding accessories and gift items to choose from...

See you there...

This has been a long day for Manny.. But, as expected, HE WON! Hurrah for us Filipinos... Mabuhay ka Manny! TKO at the 12th round. Fairly a good fight there... Congratulations also for Cotto, as he still remained on his feet despite the loss, unlike the previous opponents of PACMAN...

Hey dudes, have you heard about the latest from MTV? It's MTV Emerge, the newest platform which is actually created for unsigned music talents in the Philippines. I know most of you are into music and bands as I have been a witness to the many different activities you have here in CDO. Well, at MTV Emerge, unsigned music talents can showcase their work and be given an opportunity to win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music, which was founded by Apl.de.Ap of The Black Eyed Peas. With MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration, the aim is to find the hottest unsigned music talent from all genres of music (Indie, rock, hip-hop, R&B, metal, solo artists, DJs, etc). I bet you like that huh? I bet some of you would even want to join...
Anyway, all the participants should register and upload their profiles, photos and original music on the site of MTV Emerge , after that, their entries will go through a public voting process. You can actually vote as many times in the day with a 5 minute interval... A total of seven grand winners will be selected from the top entries on November 20 by a panel of judges and that also includes Apl.de.Ap. And all of them will win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music plus, mentorship under Apl.de.Ap. And of course, their contract will include artist management and promotion, digital distribution of 3 – 6 songs and a strategic marketing plan for the signed artists to break into both the Philippines and international markets.

I don't know who you guys wanna vote for, but please unite and vote. Do support CHARMI SANTOS. I like her song, "Tinkerbelle's Theme" ... Vote for her too. She's good...

Real Property Management

0 leaps and a turtle dive
What is Real Property Management? To answer that question, I searched and found the site www.rpmmidwest.com which tackles just that. Well, it says that Real Property Management Midwest is a great place to have property managed. So from there, I have had teh notion that it is a company that handles real property management. It's almost literal in meaning actually, silly of me... lmao...

So anyway, the site simply explains it in lay man's terms and I learned also that Real Property Management Midwest has received "Franchise of the Year, Honorable Mention" award. So if the need for anyone among you my dear readers will arise, should you want the help of RPM Midwest, they are the fastest growing property management company in the country and will surely help owners rent their places quickly, collect the rent, inspect the properties 3 times per year to ensure that the tenants are taking care of the property. Plus, the cost of any eviction (if necessary) will be covered by them. So far they are the best, expecially in the Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio areas...

Manny Pacquiao TIME Cover

0 leaps and a turtle dive
The likes of Boxing greats Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Frazier, Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali were once the cover of TIME Magazine.

And now is Manny Pacquiao's turn..... This Filipino ring icon is the latest boxer to make it to the list of professional boxers to be featured in the cover of this well-respected magazine... And also Manny Pacquiao is the second non-heavyweight fighter to do so. He is also the second Filipino to grace Time’s cover after the late former President Corazon Aquino, who was named the magazine’s "Woman of the Year" in 1986.

In its latest Asia edition issue, Time pays tribute to PACMAN in a story titled “The Meaning of Manny,” which branded the Filipino spitfire as “the latest savior of boxing.” The story delves into Pacquiao’s stature as the Philippines’ favorite son, his humble beginnings, recent ring accomplishments, and many others. Previously, TIME also included PACMAN in its list of 100 most influential people in the world, with former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis providing a brief write-up on him.

I can't wait to watch his next fight, PACQUIAO vs COTTO... '

Have you used an Outlook duplicate remover before? If you are, please send me feedback as I am actually doing a research about it now. I learned that Outlook duplicate remover works in the market of software in the field of search and removal of duplicate files, and they are less than a year younger. But they have already proven themselves to be good already. Among the basic advantages of the outlook duplicate finder is the search and removal of duplicate files, the search in such directories as a folder, a network disk, archive, i-Tunes, outlook delete duplicate and outlook find duplicates.

Talk about total clean and lots of space saved. Don't you think so?

CDO Bloggers Group Hosts Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3

0 leaps and a turtle dive

The Cagayan de Oro Bloggers (CDO Bloggers) group is set to play host to the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, which will be held on October 24, 2009. With the theme, “Mindanao: Bag-Uhon Ang Panan-aw,” the MBS 3 aims to uphold the beauty and strength of the island and to expunge the negative notions the world has about it.

(Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines – October 21, 2009) – It’s all systems go for the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers (CDO Bloggers) as they play host to the much-awaited Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, an annual gathering of Mindanao-based bloggers, IT industry experts, community leaders and new media advocates, on October 24, 2009 at Pearlmont Inn, Limketkai Drive, Cagayan de Oro City. Roughly 300 bloggers are expected to attend this year’s summit.

With the theme, “Mindanao: Bag-Uhon Ang Panan-aw,” (Changing The Way People See Mindanao) the event aims to uphold the beauty and strength of Mindanao, to highlight the diverse cultures and fascinating tourist spots that are uniquely Mindanao and to provide a platform where bloggers and other new media practitioners can discuss concerns related to Mindanao – all with the help of new and emerging technologies.

“Mindanao is the home of everything fascinating or in bloggers’ lingo – bloggable. Through the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, it is the hope of the CDO Bloggers, along with our partners and generous sponsors, that we listen to knowledgeable resource persons, meet other Mindanaoan bloggers, share and maximize all of our skills and resources and adopt tried and tested practices that can help us to fully promote Mindanao and for us to become better bloggers as well,” emphasized Chiq Montes, president of CDO Bloggers.

“Of course, we also want all of the participants to have a good time and experience the sights and sounds of Cagayan de Oro,” Montes added.

Montes said that apart from Mindanaoan bloggers, the summit will also see the participation of some bloggers from Luzon and Visayas.

Expected to grace the summit is United States Embassy’s new Deputy Chief of Mission Leslie Bassett, Atty. Adel Tamano, Agusan Lone District Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Tinnex Jaraula.

Considered unprecedented in the Philippine blogosphere, a top ranking United States Embassy dignitary is set to deliver the keynote address. Bassett’s trip to CDO will be her first trip to Mindanao since assuming office in June. She previously served as DCM in Mexico.

“We are deeply honored. We’re certain that the summit participants will be delighted to meet her and we can’t wait for her to see our beautiful city,” Montes said.

Other speakers during the whole-day affair include Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Tinnex Jaraula, Agusan Lone District Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza and Atty. Adel Tamano.

Google’s Philippine representative Aileen Apolo, whose talk will focus on beginners, Digital Filipino’s Janette Toral, who will discuss blog advertising and Lyle Santos, who will talk about making money online will also be present. Representatives of other blogger groups including those in Davao City, General Santos City and Zamboanga will also give updates.

After the summit proper, participants have the choice of joining either the city tour (Xavier University Museum, Cathedral, Divine Mercy Shrine, Opol Aviary, Limketkai Mall) or the whitewater rafting adventure.

Also happening on October 24, right after the MBS 3, is the Philippine Blog Awards – Mindanao awarding ceremonies.

CDO Bloggers, Inc., a group duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, is the lead organizer of this year’s Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3. Previous summits took place in Davao City and General Santos City.

The Climb lyrics
Songwriters: Alexander, J; Mabe, J;

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

used cars

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Finding your choice of car, whether it be new or used cars, whether you are looking to have it financed, or pay it in cash or lease, somehow, it has become a very easy thing to do...if not easier!

I chanced upon www.BuyYourCar.co.uk, which is a relatively new venture that have existed for only 3 years. Yet, I find it to be very different from any other car portal in the UK. It focuses on all aspects of car purchase and research while the other sites we chance upon are focused purely on Used Cars, New Cars or Car Leasing. In this site, BuyYourCar.co.uk you will see that they offer something different. The uniqueness in BuyYourCar.co.uk is that it allows consumers to search and inquire about New Cars, Used Cars, Car Leasing, Contract Hire and Van Leasing and even compare offers from different companies. They even supply independant Car Reviews and links about competitive loans and insurance that will surely be beneficial for anyone browsing the site.

If you want to know more, do visit them...

Casino Games: A Sports Game?

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Skaters who I spoke with have so much to tell me about skateboarding. And they would seriously talk about the sport so passionately that sometimes, such passion for skateboarding seems too much for me to understand. I mean, hey, it's quite a dangerous sport.. But one particular sports guy, who we shall hide by the name of Chuck, has another passion. It seems to me that his heart is always set for the best online casino as he loves casino games very much. I met him a few years back in Cebu. We were watching a show at the Casino Filipino while he and his friends just finished rounds from the slot machines.. And by golly, he even likes online slot machines too...

Can't blame him. He must be very good because he tells me now that he has not really lost a lot. Hmmm.. I thought he was just being nice to himself by declaring that. But, true, he has not lost much, because he doesn't play much. He simply plays when he has a chance, and mostly of these times, according to him, he wins.

He must be very lucky.. But he tells us that it isn't him that's lucky. He says that it is the platform that he uses when he plays... Well, good for him.. At least it's not an addiction that he cannot control...

Anyway, I asked him whether he considers Casino Games as a Sports Game, and his answer is simple. He siad, "YES! Because like all sports, win or lose, you just have to take it as a game or lose your cool..".

0 leaps and a turtle dive

Pinoys are known for the exotic food that we serve whenever we have special gatherings and even during ordinary meals..

Below is so far the best recipe of Dinuguan I have tasted... I think I should marry a Kapampangan for this.. hahaha...

Dinuguan (Blood Stew) Pampanga Style

3 lbs. pork shoulder or butt roast, diced
1 pc pork heart, boiled then diced
1 lb. beef tripe, cooked and diced
100 gms. pork liver, diced 1 cup vinegar
2 tbsps cooking oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, minced
2 cups broth
1-1/2 cups pig or cow blood
4 pcs. long green hot pepper
salt & pepper
(extra) green chili

A good size sautee pan.
garlic and onion in cooking oil. add diced pork, heart, and tripe.
bring to a boil and simmer until tender. then
when meat is tender, add vinegar, broth, and hot peppers and bring to a boil. add salt and pepper to taste.
add pork blood stirring continuously until thick. Simmer for 5 minutes. adjust seasonings.

Anyway, here is how we usually do it...A family Recipe...and we call it here in Cagayan de Oro and Northern Mindanao as  SAMPAYNA

1 cup cut pork’s small intestines,(cleaned, boiled and cut crosswise, 1 cm. Lengths)
1 cup cut pork’s lung, (cleaned, boiled and cut into small cubes)
2 tablespoons cooking fat
1 teaspoon crushed garlic
2 teaspoons sliced onion
1 teaspoons sliced ginger
2 tablespoons cubed green and red bell peppers
1/2 cup cut pork liver, (cubes)
vinegar mixed with pork’s blood (with lemon grass dipped in it)
2-1/2 teaspoons salt

How to make sampayna:
  • In a carajay, place all the intestines, liver, lungs and all other internal organs that may be used, over low heat until they produce oil and eventually cooked and becomes a little crispy...cool and cut into desired sizes.. set aside
  •  In a large sauce pan, saute garlic, bell pepper, ginger and onions add internal organs..
  • Add well-mixed vinegar-blood mixture, including the dipped lemon grass and bring to a boil without stirring for about 15 minutes. Add salt, stir. Cook 5 minutes longer. Remove lemon grass...
  • Serve hot. Six servings.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message
He is Dead.

Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,

Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South,
my East and West,

My working week and my Sunday rest,

My noon, my midnight,
my talk, my song;

thought that love would last forever:
I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now;
put out every one,

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,

Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;

For nothing now can ever come to any good.

This is a repost from Sana's blog.. I know Queenie personally because she is my sister's friend. What they went through is not fair. I am reposting this in the hope that some US readers of this post can help them, in anyway...

The incident happened a long time ago--- May 25, 2006 but until now, the Velasco family still needs help to clear out their names. Right now they can't find decent jobs because of the case they were NEVER convicted with prior to the pediatrician's findings. Allan and Queenie Velasco were arrested and charged with child neglect for not seeking immediate attention for their child's minor injury. Queenie was arrested at the hospital where they took Carmela, their child, and Allan was dragged out of their Jersey City home with the full view of the neighbors - dragged out and cuffed without a chance to wear shoes or jacket, and wasn't given a chance to get his cellphone or wallet.

Read the full story here - a scanned newspaper article of their story: (click images to enlarge)

Here's pictures of Mela way before the incident:

Here's Mela at Department of Youth and Family Services (DYFS)

The family wants to thank the following people:
Lynn Kressel, Jud Taylor, CAHN Family, and Lenovitz family for helping them all throughout the case and for Allan's new job.

To those who wish to help the Velasco Family, here are their contact information:

Real Property Management

Have you heard about the latest news about Real Property Management? I read that they have just received the "Franchise of the Year Honarable Mention" award and the branch at Midwest was featured in the Bizjournal of Cincinnati and Columbus... The said branch now joins the National Association of Residential Property Managers to ensure the highest standards in property management services. WOW! I think that that is truly remarkable. Real Property Management or RPM is said to manage over 20,000 units of properties all over the United States. In addition to this juicy news, Freddie Mac has signed an exclusive agreement with Real Property Management to manage the new REO Rental Initiative. Hmmm.. What do you think of this news?

Nowadays, it seems that it is not only the male specie who loves multiplayer games. If you go to gaming cafes, you will see that there are a lot of girls who are playing the games as well. What's with these games anyway? Well, multi player games allow anyone who engage in it the freedom and the ability to play online or off line games with other players. I tried it once with my cousins and we just had fun all the way... Maybe you should try it sometime...

At an early age, skater girl has already shown interest in many things. That includes, skateboarding and football(soccer) like daddy, and some things that mommy has perhaps influenced her with. Example would be the love for reading, the Internet and beauty products like soaps and scents. One time she told her to buy her a cologne which she specified. She loves a fruity Scent. lol.. Can't beat that.. She's only three you know...
