That Ride...

Subscribe to CDO EXTREME by Email I never expected this motorela to be so nice.. It is after all, different from the usual motorela you will find in our city.

I was so impressed, I had to ask who the maker was and how much it cost the driver/owner to have this built. Above image shows the portion of the motorela where one can find the details of the maker..

It's actually worth the amount of P 75,000 for the body to be built. Plus the purchase of the motorcycle to run this thing, as well as the franchise, so roughly, the owner have spent more than a hundred thousand to almost two hundred thousand pesos.

The driver said that in a year's time, he was able to enjoy the returns of his investment. Well, lookie... The motorela looks like a mini jeepney. It's spacious, and it's clean, and it's made from sturdy materials. Much better than all others. And the driver was courteous and friendly..

S'mores and Hotdogs on a Stick

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Subscribe to CDO EXTREME by Email It's still summer in other parts of the world. But here on my end, is a rainy-sunny season. Well, it rains mostly in the afternoons, but sometimes, scattered rain showers stop and we are left with a cooler night. On nights like that, we are often tempted to pitch a fire and have marshmallows on sticks as well as hotdogs on sticks. When the marshmallows melt, we get a piece of chocolate and put them together sandwiched in two separate Graham crackers.. yum..
I am sure the process is fun, while roasting with your friends or loved ones. But being unable to sit while doing so makes me think of fire tables where we can actually sit around the table and enjoy the warmth of its glow while roasting marshmallows for the S'mores and the hotdogs on sticks.. Anyway, that's just a dream away. For right at this very minute, it's raining lions and tigers..

Questions Diluted The Process..

The funny thing about some people, is that, they ask crazy questions. I think that in itself, is an extra ordinary habit. I mean, there are questions that are typical, there are questions that are intelligent, and there are questions that can be out of this world. Like, a man asking, "where can I buy top smartphones in Africa?" And he is asking you who is from Antarctica. Hahaha.. Isn't it strange sometimes how people ask questions such as those?

Silly as it may seem, but these things happen. Not that I judge them badly, I don't! But I can't help but worry. Because if all people ask crazy questions, and not one would have at least a single intelligent question to ask, then what would that say about the kind of world we have right now?

Dragon Boat in Mindanao

My cousin is part of the Dragon Boat team of their school in Butuan City. I actually got these pictures from her.

It is quite impressive that Butuan City is taking this bold move as Butuan is after all known for the old boats known as Balanghai. Soon after, I am sure the rest of Mindanao will follow suit.

The team have to undergo strenuous exercises as well as take time to train how to row in a coordinated fashion.

Well, it's not just all work..

See them have fun too..

Look at their Dragon Boat. It is quite small compared to those who have been in the competitions for many years.

But with the spirit of the Dragon, I am sure said small Dragon Boat will progress to become the huge one that competes in international waters...

GO GO GO Butuan City Dragon Boat Team..

Neighbor's Strange Hobby

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Subscribe to CDO EXTREME by Email Of all the hobbies I came to know, the hobby of the neighbor from downstairs seem weird to me. When we entered the compound the other day, we saw more than twenty computer sets, as if he is opening an Internet cafe inside the compound, but actually, they are all his for his contact abroad and all of them have massive size for data storage, installed by a special data storage software that he had been bragging around the compound.

Anyway, what could be more weird than seeing him and his two other companions turn all of them on from wee hours of the evening until dawn. Then we'd hear Indian music fill their unit while the three of them are dancing. But why turn on all twenty computers? Sometimes I find myself being scared of the follies that their actions may bring. .

Motocross

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Subscribe to CDO EXTREME by Email I was browsing the net for news and stuff and I found out that there was in fact a motocross competition here in Cagayan de Oro City that happened this year. So I stand corrected. I guess I mentioned previously that there isn't any motocross anymore and that I missed it. Well, I missed it alright, but it did happened. The motocross happened synonymous with the Second PANAGSAL-AW Festival of Barangay Kauswagan in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. The said festival showcased the Zone 5 (NHA Kauswagan) performers' creativity and vivacity with their interpretation of celebrating the feast of Sr. San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of Barangay Kauswagan. The motocross competition was participated by local and national participants. Thinking about motocross sure does make me think about accidents, head injuries and bruises. That's why I would always recommend for participants to get a really functional helmet.

Would You Watch Dora the Explorer Movie?

0 leaps and a turtle dive
Subscribe to CDO EXTREME by Email I have seen a lot of Dora the Explorer Movie video, and I find that the movie is not at all suitable for kids, as it was originally meant for.

True as the video is called, college-humor it is, and thus, children should not be allowed to watch Dora the Explorer movie.. Check Related Links:

Handmade Craftsmanship

There are people who really are experts or some had an innate talent and skills with regards to carpentry. And they are able to make and build their own product but just merely looking at the original creation. Skilled craftsman before use or work with manual tools in performing their job but as technology sets in, they too adapt in the new trends.
In fact, there are numerous types of router bits for woodworkers to use, to conserve time and energy. This is what the modern technology can do to the manual labor job. It does not only cut time it also give you more productivity of your work. Yet there are others who are still using traditional tools in making their craft especially the wood carvers. It’s not that they can’t afford the modern technology but it has something to do with the feeling of achievement when the product is handmade finished.

Rain Rain Go Away!

Earlier the rain poured like crazy. Although there was thunder, but it happened just once. No lightning, thank God! I am afraid of lightnings, even if we do not live in metal buildings here in the city, still, I heard of news that people were hit and died. Some have been spared but have been damaged heavily. It had been going on that way since storm signals have been alerted.  Storms getting in and going out, low pressure, thunderstorms, they all give the same message for Sendong survivors: Fear!

I hope everyone is feeling better today. Rain Rain Go Away!

Have you tried eating this when you were a child? Well, I have. My grandma and grandpa had a small farm in Butuan City, and every time we go there, when it's time to break some coconuts for use in the kitchen, we'd discover them.

Apparently, they are used to feed the ducks. Hahaha.. But they taste quite nicely, especially when they were freshly taken out from the coconut. We call it Bula.. The image was shared on Facebook and of course, brought so much memory..

My cousin had been busy since the start of last school year because she enrolled in a computer course, where she does not only make herself crazy formatting hard drives, but she also takes entire CPUs apart for further study. This new interest of hers has left her so busy, she no longer has time to visit us. To lure her into coming, I told her she three CPUs to destroy and restore, hahahaha...

But do you know that it worked? She's coming back to visit us next week. Yay! Now I will need to ask her so many things that I myself wanna learn.

Knee Scooter

The first time I heard of a knee scooter, I thought it was something used for fun. I didn't expect that it is actually a knee walker that allows a person to move even when one is hurt from the knee below, which has limited his or her movement. This really amazing rehabilitation tool can actually serve so many other functions too. Well, actually, it makes rehabilitating from injuries requiring crutches fun and safe. The person will be able to get around the house, get to work, get to school, get out of the house, and even have fun without the limitation of crutches.

Here's a video I found in You Tube:

I find this really interesting.

We had our Meet and Greet Senator Chiz Escudero rushed and shortened because the gorgeous senator had to leave for Davao. Anyhow, we proceeded with the lunch meet with his staff. Even when he was not there during lunch on Friday at the Kagay-anon Restaurant, the effect of each of us having posed with him earlier had set the group's mood to euphoria, hahahahaha..

Of course, a date was set for out Habitat for Humanity volunteer-ship and we ate happily there, even had coffee at our favorite coffee place, still happily and I guess even until we parted..

I was saying to myself, "SAY CHIZ!", lol..

Kill To Wear

I am looking for the perfect mens leather briefcases brand that's not just the brand for quality but affordability as well. There are lots in the market and even made to order leather briefcases, but of course most are expensive. My friends and I were talking about an Anaconda movie where David Hasselhoff was one of the actors to kill the monsters, and he said he'd want to kill not only for the money but for the boots he can get from the dead snake's skin. Now if that's a hobby in real life, I am sure it will be the most expensive. In Singapore, I saw how beautiful briefcases that were made from crocodile hide. It was truly scary at first but I learned and I saw that the plant has their own Crocodiles for tourists to see, and at the back, they manufacture their own goods from the harvesting to tanning and then the sewing. When done, finished products are displayed at the boutique that's in front. Sustainable and really a good business.
