Even When Far Away..

While a friend of mine was busy attending to her chores at the rehab treatment centers in california, here in the Philippines, Sendong came and conquered properties and lives. After work, she called friends and relatives and learned, six hours after, about the devastation, and how people survived while others perished in Sendong's wrath. And because she can not get hold of her family, she asked another friend to see whether they are alright or not. Fortunately for them, only their cellular phones were the casualties of the said tropical storm.

On the brighter side of things, she sent in help through one of the foundations handling support for Sendong victims. She said it's the least she could do as she is far away..

Who would ever thought that it could be the last time they sleep, and would never wake up..

Who would ever guess that houses can get so muddied and get truly dirty and messy...
Who would even thought that structures can get damaged and would no longer be of use...
Sendong happened... and like a thief in the night Sendong came without warning, and took away lives and property..

Washing Dirty Clothes: Not Rodeo Clothes

So we started laundry and washed some muddied clothes.. Threw away those that can not be salvaged, while those that can still be washed and cleaned, we washed until they were brightly shining and mud-free. There were designer pants and jackets of my brother's, as well as some down jackets and pants. We laughed at the thought that we were washing muddied clothes after a rodeo, but then again, they were far worse than the after rodeo clothes of my brother's...

I was really tired after washing the first sack. I wonder when we shall ever finish all of the sacks we are trying to save.. Hmm.. Thinking about it makes me tired already..

I am so amazed at how Turtle Island looks.. It's really like a huge turtle...Don't you agree?

Here are two amazing islands of Surigao del Sur. I sure wish to go there and visit them in Summer of 2012.. Aren't they amazing to behold.. Much more so if and when I get there---
This one is called Naked Island.. I have yet to discover why it's called that way..

I have always heard of Tubod, Lanao del Norte being the Motocross capital, of the Philippines, yet I have not really witnessed one, considering it is just a few miles away from where I am.
I am glad to have seen all photos shared by Mr. Ronald Zapatos at Facebook and I am able to see that an American guy, Ryan Logan, a freestyler, was able to do a 360 degree back flip. According to spectators and Ronald himself, a rider doing a 360 degrees back flip is a first in Philippine soil. Oh my goodness! That is extremely dangerous.. But he pulled it off with a bang.. wowowee..
Next year, the organizers shall be inviting two other back flippers, so there will be 3 of them by then.. Here's a video of the backflip:

Amazing, isn't it? I wonder how much practice he put in to perfect that stunt.. By the way, do you know who this is?
It's Sam Milby who got the first place of the Celebrity Class with Jordan Herrera behind him...
Isn't he a dreamboat? I have got to see motocross competitions with Sam Milby in it...

CREDITS TO Mr. Ronald Zapatos for the photos and video shared here... Lanao del Norte International Motocross Invitational “2011 World Motocross Series" happened last December 9-11, 2011 in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
