THE PRESENT

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Tomorrow is Skater Mike's father's birthday. He has given us the invitation a week ago and now I am eying for the best birthday present available for him. But unlike our dear Mikee, his dad is not the adventurous type. We do not want to be thrown out of his party just because we brought the wrong kind of present, lol... So we decided to look for Unique Christian Gifts for him. We asked Mikee prior to that and he confirmed that his daddy is the religious type. Very "Christian" in all his ways.

We found this really cute bible diary which we are sure he will like. I think... Well, I hope so. A man of his stature is surely to be pleased as he is like a father to all of us. Firm and autocratic when he needs to be, but a friend at all times.

But really, I am wondering where Mikee got his sense of adventure... or should I say, sense of misadventure? ahehehehhe...

SKATER GIRL'S FOODIES...A YUMMY SUNDAY

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Zarelle always liked Jollibee Spaghetti. Today, she asked me to buy her favorite foodies. Jollibee Spaghetti, burger and fries. I bought myself a CHAMP. hehehe....

Whenever we go out, our stop is always Jollibee. Unless of course some changes occur and we end up eating somewhere else. Hmmm, which reminds me. One time Lazar arrived with no foodie in hand, so we ended up going out. Daddy wanted us to simply buy the food on take out so we headed for Jollibee Kauswagan for the drive through. When we passed by Jollibee Vamenta, Zarelle said she wants us to eat inside, but Daddy said we should just go for the drive through. When we were done with the drive thru, of course we headed back home, passing by Jollibee Vamenta again. We passed by the bridge only to turn back and go to Jollibee Vamenta because Zarelle was about ready to explode. Daddy was a bit reluctant to be bringing the food we ordered from Jollibee Kauswagan so I told him we should just order another set, just a single set for the sake of buying so it wont be much embarrassing to be going inside the Vamenta branch. So there we were, in the corner, eating our foodies when we settled in...

WEB HOSTING FACTS

I have been blogging for two years now. The first year was spent mostly on my collections of poems and song lyrics that have touched my heart in one way or another. Last year, I have taken blogging seriously as I have made a great deal of income from writing through blogs. Then December of last year, I bought myself four domains for my other blogs. Contrary to having bought 4 domains, I still have no idea what webhosting is all about. So it helps to learn some web hosting faqs. With this in mind, I have searched the web, and Mr. Google lead me to www.webhostingchoice.com, where I read some facts from their webhosting faqs. Pretty neat. Now I know what I am dealing with in this blogging business...

CHRISTENING OF QUEENETTE ANDRA ENGWA

Today, I was supposed to attend the christening of Baby Engwa, but I am sick. I can not afford to go there with this dry cough, and runny nose. I might ruin the occassion.Anyway, I wish teh couple well. I salute the father for being a responsible and dedicated father to his daughter. Surely, not all fathers are like that.

Baby Queenette, welcome to the christian world...

SENIOR CHAT

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Skater Cocoy, not his real name is turning 55 tomorrow. He has no family to call his own, and no girlfriend at the present moment. So we gave him a surprise of his life today. We registered him to a Senior Chat Room and all we will do later is let him take the wheel and drive. We are very sure that he will meet a lot of women in that particular site who are ready to settle down even at the very ripe age. Well, no one is too young or too old to settle down unless one does not feel like settling down. As for Cocoy's case, he was just too busy skating, lol... seriously, he told us that he wanted to settle down but the woman settled with another man. It took him a very long time to get over the woman. Poor thing.

Anyway, he will be arriving at 8 tonight, and from what we have gathered, Cocoy loves to chat, only he has not found the best chat room to be in. Personally, this chat room we have prepared for him is the best for a guy his age. Mainly because most of them there are seniors. Not that all old people should get together, lol.. But at least, aside from the hoped romance he will find, I am pretty sure he will be meeting a lot of decent and fun loving people worthy of his friendship and confidences. The people in the site are warm and friendly too. This I know because I signed up for an account too. hehehe...

Let's just hope that Cocoy finds his love through this site. Break a leg Cocoy dear.

The One That Got Away By: Mark J. Macapagal

Saturday, February 14, 2009

I read this somewhere before and found it again in my friend's FS blog. I just wanna share with you guys the story... well, our day is ruined by a monster who was at the shop this afternoon... the home-wrecker, the woman who earns money in bed... and left and right at that (another man at teh left, another at the right? although not in the same location, still, it makes me look at her like a tramp...)...anyway, she's a nobody... I can not allow her to ruin everything else...hahaha... the last laugh will still be Zarelle's and mine... we'll see...

Anyway, here's the article...enjoy....

In your life, you'll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something. There's the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you're with... and the one that got away.
Who is the one that got away? I guess it's that person with who everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn't fall the right way, I suppose. I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a longtime partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing. It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance. How often have you gone through it without even realizing it? When you're not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn't matter who you're with, it just doesn't work. Small problems become big; inconsequentials become dealbreakers simply because you're not ready and it shows. It's not that you and the person you're with are no good; it's just that it's not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact. Then one day you're ready. You really are. And when this happens you'll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be the most perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it'll work because you're ready. It'll work because it's the right time and you'll make it work. And it'll make sense, it really will. So that day comes when you're finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want, and you've become ready because the time has truly arrived.
And mind you, there's no telling when this day will come. Hopefully you're single but you could be in a long-term relationship, you could be married with three kids, it doesn't matter. All you know is that you've changed, and for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about.
You'll think about them because you'll wonder, "What if they were here today?" You'll wonder, "What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?" That's what the one that got away is. The biggest "What if?" you'll have in your life. If you're married, you'll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But hopefully you're mature enough to realize that you're already with the one you're with and this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it. Sure, you'll think about him/her every so often, but it's alright. It's never nice to live with a "might have been," but it happens. Maybe the one that got away is the one who's already married. In which case it's the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you're old and gray and reminiscing. But if neither of that is the case, then it's different. What do you do if it's not yet too late? Simple...find him, find her. Because the very existence of a "one that got away" means that you'll always wonder, what if you got that one? Ask him out to coffee, ask her out to a movie, it doesn't matter if you've dropped in from out of nowhere. You'd be surprised, you just might be "the one that got away" as well for the person who is your "the one that got away." You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won't make a difference. If the timing is finally right, it'll all just fall into place somehow and you know, I'm thinking, it would be a great feeling, in the end, to be able to say to someone, "Hey you, you're the one that ALMOST got away."

TRACKING SEX OFFENDERS

Today, I came upon a site that gives out a Sex Offenders Report. I was truly amazed because it not only helps people track down sex offenders for personal benefits, but also makes everyone aware of the people who may be involved in one way or another.

Local sex offenders from every state is in the data base thus, making it a wise decision to look into the website for future reference. Who knows, the guy who is stalking you may be in the list. That makes it easier for the police to help you if you have such predicament. But of course, if not, being informed is just as important.

Chances are, if the name is in the list, he or she will do the same act again. And you will never know it's the life of your next kin that you save. In the site I have learned that the chances for sex offenders to repeat the crime is high. In fact, the U.S. Department of Justice have recently released a report  that states that about fourteen (14%) percent of all proven sex offenders will repeat committing a sex related crime. And with 664,731 past sex offenders currently spread throughout the country, it is not possible to catch them again if we do not give the list to the public. This means that 93,062 known sex offenders will become repeat offenders. And chances are, if you have 5 past offenders living in your area, 1 of them will commit another sex crime. With the report, one will get the information needed to fight against the very frightening truths about sex offenders.

SKATER BOY & HIS GLASSES...

Friday, February 13, 2009

The other day L complained of not seeing clearly while driving. So I suggested that he wear a pair of eyeglasses whenever he would drive. He laughed and said that it is so uncool to be seen driving with glasses. But of course, I wanted him to realize that being uncool is better than having a sight problem. Last night, his sister P and I had a chat and I relayed the problem to her. She then told me that just recently, she saw something in the New York Times. She added that that could be the solution to her brother's dilemma. And of course, a loving and generous sister like her would always look after her brother's welfare. So being the proponent of the said news, I worked hand in hand with her. She informed me that the news about Zenni Optical in the New York Times was really an encouragement for all those who wish to take the next step in eye care. Even she, who had just gotten the result of a 20/20 vision wanted to get a pair for herself because the prices of the glasses are very much affordable. Imagine, for as low as $8, one can get a pair. What's more, the designs are as elegant as can be. In fact, they have all the different styles to choose from depending on the client's preference, of course.

So while we were chatting, I was also busy looking for Zenni through google. And I found the site, www.zennioptical.com, where I saw the designs myself, and I too was amazed at how cool all the designs are. I sent L a text message telling him that just there is already a solution to his problem. But of course, he will have to wait until the next package from his sister. Hehehe...

I took the liberty of choosing the glasses for L. Well, if there was a frame with a design for skaters that would have been the choice, but since there was none, the ones below were the choices:

Of course, P has the last say...hehehe...

BALUT & PENOY

Sunday, February 8, 2009

What every man or woman SHOULD EAT... hahaha, ...WHEN STRENGTH IS NEEDED, if you know what I mean... happy eating...

The two eggs resembling boiled eggs, that's what is called "PENOY"...

The one with the chick membrane, that is what we call "BALUT". To some people, the latter may look yucky with the embryo in it, but once you get the hang of it, you will love it...

Both are best eaten with vinegar and salt.

SKATER GIRL + SKATER BOY and MOMMY

Saturday, February 7, 2009

We took pictures of the shop's new items for updates. Andrew told me to take a picture of Zarelle with the short board. So while we were waiting for Daddy, Zarelle posed and posed..hahaha...

Anyway, today, the skater's family went malling... we took our little girl to ride the carousel, the bumble bee, and all other rides available for a little girl to enjoy. She really had a grand time that she told me she wants us to do this again next weekend. Oh well, we were supposed to just wait for daddy at the orange house, but then we got bored so we went to SM.

Since Vhong Navarro was at SM too, we could not help but go up and down the escalator to find our way through the mall. There were so many fans. Personally, I am not a fan of Vhong Navarro. But when I saw him come down the stairs, I was starstrucked. He is good looking and has a very fine complexion. I was not able to contain myself, I wanted to take pictures but Daddy was already "cross"... Hmmm, could it be that he got jealoused? Hahaha... maybe... maybe not... well, only he can answer that. hahaha...

I have a new pet name for him by the way. I call him, "HELLO STRANGER"... Because I feel that's what he wants us to be, "STRANGERS"... or should i say, "ESTRANGED"...

We ate at Pizza Hut for snacks.

Zarelle chose Pizza Milania, and we all loved it.

It was tiring afterward, but it was definitely a family day to remember.
