Honoring All Veterans..

This was what Debbie sent me today. I am quite touched with her email as both my grandfathers were Philippine Veterans who died without even enjoying any respect or given credit for their heroism during the war.. And though Memorial Day is a day for honoring US Veterans, I think it matters not which country  veterans serve, whatever nationality, I have observed that it is a universal thing that veterans are the ones who  are more patriotic but are less given the credit.. so I am sharing this here. Hope all of us give honor and respect to them while they are still alive----

Hope you enjoyed your family and had a great Bar-B-Q -- we sure had a great weekend.  In celebrating, we want to remember the fallen military -- who have given us the freedoms we so easily enjoy.  This poem was written by 

It is the 
VETERAN,
 not the preacher,
 who has given us freedom of religion. 

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the reporter,
  who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
 not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
   
It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

    
It is
the VETERAN,
 not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.


 
It is
the VETERAN,
 not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

 
 
 
It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag, 

  It is
the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

 

Eternal Rest Grant Them O Lord, and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Them.
